GOLD RUSH EXPEDITION RACE

RACING THROUGH THE SIERRA NEVADAS...

The Gold Rush Expedition Race is one of the foremost expedition races in the world. An international field of elite athletes tackle grueling courses through the California wilderness, as they test their mental and physical limits in the toughest competition in North America. Over the course of four days, teams face merciless weather and sleepless nights while trekking, mountain biking, climbing and kayaking amidst the beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Since Fall Semester of 2012, over 100 University of Cincinnati students from eight different UC programs at the College-Conservatory of Music, the College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning, and the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences have been a part of an interdisciplinary class that has been "team-taught" by two UC Professors–and a former UC alumnus in the creation of an award winning documentary film series that aired nationally on NBC’s Universal Sports Network.

Students in the UC Production Master Class at the University of Cincinnati work alongside professionals to film, produce, edit, music supervise and design graphics for the series.
